Here is mine (Megan's):

I had long acrylic fingernails for about 8 years. Now I have nightmares about once a month that someone has me strapped down and is forcing me to put acrylic nails on. I am screaming "NO! I don't want them"....
I was a cheerleader at Colorado State University.
I am a Gamma Phi Beta.
My first "real" job was right when I turned 15. It was at a little fast food Mexican Restaurant in Nebraska called "Amigos." It was one of the only places that would hire 15-year-olds (besides Arby's -- and I did not eat meat at that time). The day I turned 16, I applied and got hired at "The Buckle" -- I worked there for the remainder of high school, all of college, and out here in Salt Lake for a few years.
I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years.
In later grade school, we had to create a semester long science project. I have always LOVED animals, so my mother approved me doing a "gerbil breeding" experiment. It involved breeding different colors of gerbils for the year and documenting what colors the babies came out to find out the probability and dominance of certain colors (black, brown, albino, etc). At one time, we had 46 gerbils in our home. My dad was not happy...

Tomorrow morning we are headed to St. George to visit the CUTEST girls ever (see photos). I am in SUCH need of a vacation so it will be VERY FUN!

As soon as we get back, we should have some fun stories and more great photos.

Yep. Its time. I atleast made it before the 2 month mark -- I cannot believe I have not updated our blog since BEFORE our wedding! Jeez, how life gets going crazy! Our wedding was amazingly perfect -- thank you all who came by to support us and share in our special day!

We had a wonderful little honeymoon get-a-way to San Francisco for a few days afterwards. We just pretty much hung out, played tennis, shopped, and did some site-seeing. One of the COOLEST things that I didn't even know existed in San Fran was the amazing "Golden Gate Park." It is acres and acres of gardens, play areas, and all sorts of goodies! The weather was so cool and fall-like, it was just perfect! My favorite was visiting the "Japanese Tea Garden" that was there at the Park.

Other than that, Dan and I both have joined the USTA and are playing on tennis leagues this season. Tennis is a 180 from road bike racing -- all you had to do to be a top bike racer was ride your bike and train as much as possible to be as fast as possible. It's was a lot of work and a lot of time, but you can get pretty good if you just put in the time. Tennis is nothing like this. The more I play, the more I realize I probably won't EVER be good. Average, at best. To be really good in this sport, you had to come out of the womb with a racquet in your hand. There is so much involved -- and it is this challenge that I love. Volleys, Serves, Winners, Losers, Deuce, No-Ad, Overheads, hold you racquet a different way for each different shot...... Holy Cow. Just when I think I'm "getting good", I get humbled. But I still keep playing, and for the most part really enjoying it. I do have ONE thing going for me: I can run faster than most anyone I play with or against. So, that means that even if I am a crappy hitter, I can atleast get to every ball and have the chance to get it in. I'm hoping by the 2015 family reunion, I can make it to the finals.

Work and Wedding....

It seems that my entire month has been filled with a lot of both -- work and wedding. We have had 3 wonderful wedding showers and are getting pretty close to ready for the big day next weekend. I am leaving town Thursday the 23rd to go to big fitness convention in Dallas and sell our IMPACT line. These shows are always a lot of fun, but also a lot of work! I feel bad having to leave the weekend before our wedding, but I have every confidence that Danny will get everything he can in order while I am away.

We will be taking a "mini-honeymoon" to San Francisco the week after the wedding. I say "mini" because we will really only be gone 3 days, BUT I AM SO VERY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!! We rarely go anywhere that is not related to my business, so this is a HUGE treat for me!!!! A vacation with NO WORK!!! Yipee!! Next spring, we have talked about a trip to Europe as our more official honeymoon. Danny has been there before but I have not, and I'd really like to go before we have kids.

Nothing else much new from here -- hopefully after this big month of "W & W" we will get to enjoy some much needed "R & R".

Children...

Everyone posts photos about their kids, so I figured why can't I?? My children come in different forms, and in different tiers. The cats are the top tier of my children - "Bob" (the spotted and striped bengal tabby mix), and "Posh" (the seal point siamese mutt mix -- sitting on Danny's lap).

The second tier currently are the 30 some fish we have in the ponds out back. Some may argue that the fish are actually the "first tier" children right now -- we spend a considerable amount of times out back watching them, feeding them, admiring them....

We have a few Coi, some fan/double-tailed specialty goldfish, Shubunkin (calico) golfish, a couple Ryunkin goldfish, and many other assorted ones! They are all quite happy here!

The third tier (which was the 2nd before we put in the waterfeature and aquired all the fish) are the 12 japanese maples at the Wallace house. When I first moved into this property in June of 2006, the yard was as close to a jungle as you could get. Cleanup and upkeep here are truly a labor of love, and during this process we have planted and are tenderly caring for 12 japanese maple trees.

The coolest thing is that they are different
colors different times of the year!

I definetely admit to being a "yard lover." I will be that old lady who is out in her yard all day long when she is retired. I so much enjoy watching daily the little things that take shape --- which flowers opened today, which trees have leafed out (or in fall which are starting to loose their leaves), etc..

We also are growing some vegetables this year! I wouldn't go so far as to say they are on a children tier, but they are a lot of fun and very yummy!

Tonight, we hired a photographer (Karen Adams) to take some photos of us so we can include them with our wedding invites. If you need a GREAT photographer on short notice, I HIGHLY recommend her! Here's what we came up with....

Home Grown

My mother has been in town this past week visiting from Nebraska. It has been a different kind of vacation for her out here because we usually work in the yard, go on walks, and do a lot of "projects" that I wouldn't otherwise get done until I had time alloted ... which is never. BUT - seeing that our wedding is in a mere 39 days, we spent this week trying to do EVERYTHING for the wedding. No joke. Everything. The only thing that had really been decided on until this week is where we are having it -- at my home in the backyard. That was an easy decision. But this week we were able to accomplish getting an outfit for my mother, going to look for invites (yes, we are WAY behind....), Karen graciously is making my dress and found the fabric, and we successfully chose some colors. I have to say I am probably the "worst" bride to deal with, because I really hadn't put a lot of thought into these details. Regardless, I think we will have a beautiful wedding and at the end of the day we will be married none the less!

So, if you are wondering where your invitation is..... now you know. We don't have them yet. BUT they are coming!
